July 10th TXwine Twitter Tuesday: Share Your Texas Grape Harvest Stories and Pics
Denise Clark (@DeniseClarkeTX), Jeff Cope (@TXwineLover) and I (@VintageTexas) hope you can join us for the next TXwine Twitter Tuesday at 7 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012. This month we’d like to share tales from Texas Wine Grape Harvests (2012 or in the past). This year’s harvest season is upon us, starting in late June on the Texas Gulf Coast with the gathering of Blanc Du Bois and Black Spanish (Lenoir) grapes. It will progress upward across the state and finish on the Texas high plains near Lubbock in September and October.
Upcoming Texas grape harvest events where you can participate by harvesting and celebrating this year’s crop include:
- Haak Winery and Vineyards Harvest Festival (Santa Fe, TX) – July 7th, 2012. Details: http://www.haakwine.com/haak-events/2012/04/july-7th-harvest-festival/
- Paradox House Vineyard Harvest (Industry, TX) – July 8th, 2012. RSVP at paradoxhouse@gmail.com or 281-435-7227 by July 5 so we will have a headcount (Will be serving BBQ, beans, bread, and drinks; bring a dish to share).
- Messina Hof Winery and Resort (Bryan, TX) – July 20th thru August 19th, 2012. Both Evening and Daytime harvest events and gala. Details: http://www.messinahof.com/events_calendar.php

NOTE: If you know of more Texas grape harvesting events, please Twitter us the details and include the hashtag #TXwine or post on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/381229808585972/.
While you’re at it, pick up a bottle of your favorite Texas wine (your choice) and bring your favorite Texas harvest memories and a few pictures from your favorite harvest fun and join us for our Texas wine chat and tasting on July 10th. There are three weekends and the 4th of July holiday coming up and the weather is supposed to be grand. So, if you can, visit a winery or vineyard in your area and tell us where you went, what you did, who you met, what you harvested and what you tasted.
To participate in the July 10th TXwine Twitter Tuesday, remember to include the hashtag #TXwine in your tweet.
