TXwine Twitter Tuesday Features the Big Red Wines of Texas, March 6, 2012!

Denise Fraser (@DeniseFraser), Jeff Cope (@TXwineLover) and I (@VintageTexas) hope you can join us for the next TXwine Twitter Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6th. We’ve selected three top-selling and award-winning wines, The Big Reds of Texas, and invite you to taste and discuss these wines via Twitter.

The three wines selected for March #TXwine Twitter Tuesday are three gold and silver medal winning wines from the recent Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition. They should be available at a location near you.

•           Llano Estacado Cellar Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 – $17

•           Landon Winery Tempranillo 2010 – $19

•           McPherson Cellars Sangiovese 2009 – $16

So pick up one or more of these wines and join us for our Texas wine chat and tasting.  Please remember to use the Twitter hashtag #TXwine.  If you can find the wine, but a different vintage, give it a try as it will make for an interesting comparison for discussion. If you need assistance finding any of the wine locally or would like to have it shipped to you, please contact the wineries using the links given above.

NOTE: If you’re new to Twitter, here’s how you participate:  just sign up for a free Twitter account at www.twitter.com. To make it easy to follow and participate in the discussion, go to the Tweetchat room set up for TXwine Twitter Tuesdays: http://tweetchat.com/room/TXwine.  No registration is required; you can login using your Twitter account.

In the Tweetchat room, participants are invited to follow tweets, add comments, and share thoughts as the participants taste and discuss the wines. Participants should use the hashtag #TXwine with Tweets, if using TweetDeck or another Twitter application.

In April, TXwine Twitter Tuesdays will collaborate with #WineChat on Wednesday April 4th at 8:00 pm Central (9:00 Eastern) to celebrate the upcoming DrinkLocalWine.com Conference. The focus will be on the  local wine — namely within the other 47 states, but also small family-owned-and-operated producers in Washington, Oregon and California. Please note that this event will be held on the first Wednesday of the month instead of our normal first Tuesday slot.

More information on this exciting Twitter event will follow.

Love to taste, talk and tweet about Texas wines and where they are in the global scheme for wines. After all that's the only way they will reach the full potential.
