HAAK 2003 MADEIRA WINS GOLD MEDAL IN NATIONAL
WOMEN’S WINE COMPETITION
Haak Vineyards & Winery proudly announces its 2003
Madeira Jacquez has won a Gold Medal in the second
annual National Women’s Wine Competition (NWWC).
The Haak Madeira is one of only 76 wines, out of more
than 1,600 entries, to receive a Gold Medal. This Texas
wine is one of the only Madeiras made in the United
States. Haak Winery is also among just 25 wineries
from around the world invited to pour their award-
winning wines at a glittering special tasting event
on Thursday, October 2 in Washington, DC, at the
National Museum of Women in the Arts.
Winery owner Raymond Haak, “We are delighted to receive
this prestigious recognition for our Madeira Jacquez
and to share our wine with the NWWC guests in our
nation’s capital. Women make up a huge part of today’s
wine market and it’s a huge honor to know that our
Madeira was so well-received by the top female palates
in the industry.”
This medal award adds to the laurels for the Haak
Madeira that also includes medals from the Finger
Lakes International Wine Competition (New York) and
the San Diego International Wine Competition.
