The Rare & Fine Wine Auction is the Foundation’s most unique event of the year. Held at the stunning Four Seasons Hotel, the auction attracts wine enthusiasts throughout the state who are eager to bid on over 300 auction lots, such as wines from private cellars, dinners, trips and items from around the world.
Rare collectibles of Old World classics such as 1st Growth Bordeaux, Grand Cru Burgundy, Vintage Port, legendary Italians are offered up with New World luminaries like California Cult classics, top Oregon Pinot Noir, luscious Washington and Australian reds……and not to me omitted, the best wines Texas has to offer. Wine tour vacations to Europe and North America will be featured, as well as spectacular wine tastings and gourmet wine dinners hosted in the state’s best private cellars and most exciting restaurants.

Known for their magnificent lunches, Portabla is now whipping up daily dinners for Austin foodies. Pair your 2003 Flat Creek Estate Super Texan with a three-course dinner for two. The flavors created by Krug and Shea will surprise, impress and fulfill.
2003 Flat Creek Estate Super Texan:
1 bottle (.750 liter) Commemorative logo box and two wine glasses accompany the 2003 Super Texan. This vintage of Sangiovese was the first red wine from Texas to win a Double Gold in the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Auction proceeds benefit KLRU-TV Public Television and The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas’ mission to inspire excellence and education in the culinary and viticulture arts through scholarships, grants and the development of educational programs and projects. Since its inception 24 years ago, the Auction has raised millions of dollars towards these goals. In 2005, the Foundation launched its $25,000 Grant Awards Program for innovative and educational projects in wine and food within Texas and continues this program annually.
