Eye Popping Wines & Stats for a Messina Hof Winery Twitter Tasting

Yesterday at noon central time, Messina Hof Winery in Bryan Texas kicked off an International Twitter Tasting featuring wine tasters in Texas and point around the world as far away as Paris France. However, this wasn’t my first experience with the Grand Impresarios of Texas Wine, Paul and Merrill Bonarrigo. I’d arranged for the Messina Hof first Twitter tasting in January 2010 where a group of wine bloggers and trade notables blind tasted Messina Hof wines paired with first-class non-Texas wine from around the world that impressed me so much for its unabashed over the top flair that I dedicated a chapter to it in my recent book, The Wineslinger Chronicles. But, now it includes the whole Bonirrigo family including: Paul V, Merril, son Paul M and Paul M’s wife, Karen which are all Twitter-literate and actively tweeting up a storm.

Yesterday’s event was stellar, from the quality of the Messina Hof wines, that included their Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Muscat Canelli and Port wines, along with the impressive stats that were seen on Twitter. In one 24 hour period, it racked up almost 750,000 Twitter media impressions (tweets x followers and retweets) to an audience of just over 87,000 followers.
