Foodies, Ear Foodies & Oenophiles Unite at Texas-Sized Festival Operation “FINALLY HOME”

Award-winning Texas wineries, local artisan breweries and some of the best Texas musicians will pour it on May 28-29 for the 2011 Austin Wine & Music Festival in the backyard of The Domain in northwest Austin. “This festival is the only winery-owned event of its kind where people can learn about Texas wines one glass at a time,” says festival creator and Texas Hill Country Wineries executive director Katy Jane Bothum.

According to Ms Bothum, “You’ll notice people have been quick to becoming locavores in purchasing food locally, but slower to become loca-pours. AW&MF increases awareness about the vast array of quality Texas wines found within an afternoon’s drive to Texas’ wine country or down the street at their local wine and grocery stores.”

With a portion of festival proceeds benefitting Texas non-profit Operation “FINALLY HOME” which builds mortgage-free homes for veterans, the fith-annual Austin Wine & Music Festival features great Texas wine, musicians and artisan breweries, giving revelers the chance to sample the very best locally made wine, beer, port, food, music and cigars.

Love to taste, talk and tweet about Texas wines and where they are in the global scheme for wines. After all that's the only way they will reach the full potential.
